Elk Rapids Honorary Rotarian Paul Brink is the President of Warm Hearts Foundation.
Warm Hearts Foundation is a Michigan based nonprofit whose goal is to improve the lives of people (especially women and girls) with clean water, healthy maternities, educational opportunities, and projects leading to self-sufficiency. Warm Hearts has a first-rate financial team and offers plenty of travel opportunities for people wishing to volunteer.
Warm Hearts works in the destitute areas of Kenya, Nairobi and Malawi, which Paul describes as "The Warm Heart of Africa." Malawi is half Christian and half Muslim, and they all get along. Despite living in one of the world's poorest countries the Malawi people are faithful and happy.
Many of Warm Hearts' projects are done in collaboration with other organizations, such as the Traverse Bay Sunrise Rotary's Malawi Bicycle Project for students to use to and from school. Warm Hearts has no paid staff but is able to accomplish much from loyal supporters. To review the slide presentation, click here.
