Lake Ann native Amanda McLaren is the Director of the Benzonia Public Library.

Housed in the Mills Community Center, the Benzonia Public Library carries historic research materials as well as current best-sellers. It offers 24/7 wireless connection and Overdrive eBooks. (While eBooks are being checked out at a steady clip, Amanda finds that many people still prefer reading books in their traditional hard-copy form.)

In addition to the traditional library role of carrying publications and other materials for check-out, the Benzonia Public Library offers a myriad of additional services like a summer reading program, book chats and craft projects. For reasons of efficiency BPL partners with Beulah's Darcy Library where appropriate.

Summer is particularly a hopping time at BPL, with all sorts of free programs such as the Summer Reading Kick-off, weekly story times and a Wings of Wonder presentation.  Fall includes an annual used book sale, followed by a quilt raffle and holiday party. The Benzonia Public Library is clearly another valued Benzie County asset.
