Rebecca Gill is co-owner of Cotton Creek Alpaca Farm in Thompsonville.  As detailed in its website, Cotton Creek is part of what Rebecca and husband Jason call Life 2.0.
After living in the suburbs of Detroit for two decades, the Gills traded their suburban life for a 27-acre parcel of land at the border of Thompsonville and Buckley.  In 2017 they began building a custom home and barn, and in 2018 they moved north.  In January of 2019 they brought home their first four alpacas. According to Rebecca, "Once we brought our first alpacas home, we fell in love and realized they were magical creatures."

Since then the farm has gone from a family hobby to a thriving business with more than 50 alpacas on hand.  It is a working farm that offers alpaca breeding, sales, boarding and mentoring.  There is an onsite farm store open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday offering socks and other alpaca products available for purchase.
