Benzie Sunrise Rotary provides books for all Benzie Central elementary students.
Benzie Sunrise Rotarians provide books for all Benzie Central elementary students. At the beginning of the school year, each student is given a book bag with crayons, a journal, and a finger puppet. The finger puppets are made by a women's collective in Peru. Throughout the year books are provided for distribution for each classroom. At the end of the year, Rotarians hold a book fair at each school with every student, PreK-5th grade, selecting two books for summer reading. The books are supplied by PoWeR! Book Bags which receives financial support from the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Foundation and members. Rotarians also donate time packing books and adding bookplates to the books prior to distribution.
