The Club held its annual meeting at Benzie County Central Middle School.   The meeting was well attended by not only members of our club but by School Board Members, Administration, Faculty, Parents and Students.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide updates on the various activities and programs that the club sponsors and/or supports at the Benzie Schools and to hear how the programs are making a positive impact in the lives of the students.  The agenda included updates on Career Day, Choices Program, the MSU/CMU Trip, School Store, Middle School Interact Club, Chicago Trip, Back the Track, Scholarships, Strive, High School Interact Club, Clothes Closet, Top 10 Awards Banquet, Reading is Fundamental and the Dictionary Program.

It was encouraging to hear from students, teachers and administrators about the positive difference the involvement of Benzie Sunrise Rotary has had on the schools.  It was emphasized that the financial support is extremely helpful however the time and energy that our club invests in the schools by participating in a number of events is even more appreciated.  Thank you to all who devote their time and resources to making a difference in the lives of Benzie County youth!

Club President Barb Skurdall presented Superintendent Dave Micinski a certificate of appreciation for his encouragement and help in allowing our club to partner with the schools.  Dave will be retiring at the end of this school year after 25 years as Superintendent.
