Amiee Erfourth has served the Benzie County Central Schools for the last twenty years. Since August of 2020 she has been the Superintendent of Schools.
Amiee shared a Homestead Road Campus Masterplan with us. Work on the Masterplan stared a week after the passage of the bond proposal in 2020. She pointed out areas of improvement such as the ball fields and track barn, with changes made with her input.
Phase 1 of the 2020 Bond Projects will include a new transportation center, a new weight/fitness facility, new gym bleachers and remodeled locker rooms. The new Elementary School will feature a full-sized gym and community space. Amiee continues working on child care options.
The Betsie Valley School will get a new roof next summer, as well as a new parking lot. In the Q&A Amiee talked about the Sinking Fund balance, as well as Benzie Central's COVID-19 plan for the fall. She expressed a desire to partner with Sunrise Rotary on community service projects for Benzie Central students.
