Chris Dowse, a member of the Crieff Rotary Club, Scotland, virtually attended the Benzie Sunrise Club to share his 2023 Walk Around Wales. Bruce & Valerie Gerhart became friends of the Crieff Club during the pandemic, attending several of their meetings virtually and last year joining them in-person when they were on a cycling tour of Scotland.
Several years ago, Chris was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After recovering from surgery, he did a long walk to raise money both for prostate cancer research and Rotary International's End Polio Now program. More recently, he was diagnosed with and went through treatment for leukemia. He decided to walk the 1000+miles on the pathways that circle Wales, and raised over 17,000 Brit Pounds, the equivalent of almost $22,000.
