BACN Director of Development Kelly Ottinger points out one of the rooms at BACN's new facility.
Today we met at the new faciity of BACN, a charitable nonprofit whose complete name is Benzie Area Christian Neighbors.  Kelly gave us an update on BACN, followed by a tour of the new facility.

In 2018 the BACN Board decided that it was time to build a new facility to better serve BACN's "neighbors"--those who rely upon BACN's food, clothing and services.  The Board had several key goals in mind::
  • Central location
  • Safety for all who would use the building
  • Functional but modest design--nice and respectful
  • Designed for BACN's activities
  • Long-term sustainability
According to its Mission Statement BACN strives to improve the quality of life for people with limited resources in our community by providing:
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Financial assistance
  • Education
  • Social support
BACN is run by four staff members and 60 volunteers.  It receives no government funding and is always looking for morre volunteers.  More information about the opportunities at BACN is available on line.
