Benzie Central 7th grade students participated with Benzie Sunrise Rotarians and community leaders in the club’s 4th annual Service Above Self Day.
This event began in 2018 as an experience that connects Rotarians & students, to enhance students’ awareness of organizations and needs in the community, and to build feelings of care for their community.
Students worked in small groups at eight sites throughout the county including Beulah, Benzonia, The Gathering Place, Grow Benzie, the Legacy Art Park at Crystal Mountain, Cognition, and the Betsie Valley Trail. They moved mulch, pulled weeds from gardens, cleaned, and helped to prepare outdoor spaces for the winter ahead.
