Assistant District Governor Leann Burger gave us an update on what's happening at the District level.

Leann reminded us that Rotary International is moving to a "pay to play" system with respect to the distribution of funds from the RI Foundation. This means that to be eligible to receive funds for projects, clubs will be required to contribute so much per member to the Foundation. In 2014 this will be $50; in subsequent years the quota will be raised to $75 and then to $100 per member.

Upcoming District events include a pre-PETS meeting on February 15 in Elk Rapids and PETS training in March. Leann said that these District-wide events are not only worthwhile, but also lots of fun. She ended by complimenting the Club on many of our activities, including our efforts in setting up the Interact Club at Benzie Central, our website and our Bike Benzie Tour (in which Leann is a regular participant).
