Nancy Plummer told us about the founding and success of Moomers Ice Cream.
A retired teacher, Nancy founded Moomers in April of 1998. Starting out with seven employees and no business experience, Nancy and her husband have seen the business succeed to the point that in 2008 they were honored by ABC's "Good Morning America" as having the country's best ice cream.

Moomers is located on North Long Lake Road west of Traverse City on a 75-acre working dairy farm. Nancy described Moomers as a family-owned business built on common sense. In addition to selling ice cream Moomers teaches school kids (and their parents!) about agriculture. A lively Q & A session was followed by the distribution of free samples (including butter pecan, described by Nancy as a favorite of retired men).
