Kris Thomas told us why she feels compelled to support the Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation started with a $26 contribution but now contains something like $1 billion. The contributions we make annually go into either the Annual Fund Share or to Polio Plus. Some 2,800 Rotarians in District 6290 annually contribute about $300,000 to the Annual Fund Share, but much of this comes back to clubs in the District as matching grants. To become eligible for matching grants clubs must contribute at least $100 per member to the Annual Fund Share.  This underscores the importance of our Club contributing approximately $4,500 to the Annual Share Fund by July 1.

Kris explained the difference between District Grants and Global Grants and showed a touching video of Rotarians at work on Global Grants.  She also referred us to the May 2017 issue of The Rotarian, whose theme is "Your Money in Action:  How The Foundation turns your cash into change."
