Run Across the Congo

In the last few years On the Ground has sponsored several humanitarian projects in Africa, the first being the 250-mile Run Across Ethiopia in 2011. Meryl and Randi described this year's event as "Women Running for Women."  The goal of the project is to raise awareness for Project Congo, which supports women's empowerment. The participating women will cover the distance of a marathon each day for seven consecutive days. They also will meet with locals and talk about gender equality and related issues. Norm, Meryl and Randi thanked Sunrise Rotary for our past financial support and invited us to support their efforts this year.
