New Member Shaun Anchak shared his story with his fellow club members.

Shaun was born and raised in his early years in Willingboro, New Jersey.  When he was seven years his family moved to a small town in the Appalachian Mountain region of southern Ohio.  Shaun attended school in a 4 room school house and had only 8 children in his grade.  After his 8th grade year his family moved to Ft. Wayne, IN for a brief time then moved back to southern Ohio.

Sometime later Shaun's step-dad got a job in Southeast Michigan and the family moved to the Detroit area.  Moving from a rural Appalachian region to the affluent suburb of Bloomfield Hills was quite a culture shock for Shaun however he soon adapted to his new home.

Shaun's career in Law Enforcement began in Detroit and Pontiac.  In 2003 he was was able to secure a position in Manistee which brought him to Northwest Michigan.  In 2010 he moved to Thompsonville where he currently resides with his family.  Shaun currently serves our community working as a Probation Officer for the 19th Judicial Court covering Benzie and Manistee counties.

Shaun is a talented musician and a member of the band Saldaje.  According to their facebook page "Saldaje” is inspired by the Portuguese expression of intense longing or desire, a fitting title for “The darkest ukulele band in Northern Michigan”. Saldaje’s repertoire consists of mostly original songs, –haunting, apocalyptic folk ballads with an old-world flair.  Saldaje is Melonie Steffes and Shaun Anchak, and a growing family of assorted ukuleles, a violin, mandolin, guitar, toy piano, and harmonicas".  You can find out more at http://www.saldaje.com/.

A man of many talents, Shaun has been a terrific addition to our club.
